Lynda.com for All Online Learning Needs

When I first decided I wanted to be a web designer, I didn't know where to begin. I figured I could find the help I needed on the Internet and so I did a search for help and was overloaded with tutorials, articles, and junk. I learned a little but easily got sidetracked with the information and had a hard time finding one complete source for all my questions. That was until I stumbled on to lynda.com.

I instantly started trying out the free samples of tutorials. And I knew I had found the tool for success!  I spent a few hours trying out the free lynda.com tutorial samples and it was a no brainer when I signed up for the monthly charge of $25.00.

I weighed out my options to see if it would be worth the price and decided to sign up for the monthly plan so if I found it wasn't useful to me anymore, I could cancel. It's been almost a year and I'm still a member.

There are so many categories of interest that I keep finding more and more courses to take. For only $25 a month, I have access to over 40,000 training videos!  Most college courses out there are in excess of $100.00, some are as much as $500.00 and that doesn't even take books and supplies in to consideration! With lynda.com you don't need books! And with lynda.com there is no limit!

You can learn whatever you want, as much as you want, how you want.
Each course is broken in to chapters and the chapters in to small video segments.  Yyou don't need to finish a course or chapter before moving on to something different. This is great for someone like me who might need to know how to indent a paragraph in Word 2007, add an attachment to an email, photoshop an image, edit a page in Dreamweaver, update HTML code, or learn about social marketing skills. It works great for me because I need to know a little about a lot.

The member interface saves your personal data, so you can log in from any computer, including your iPone, and access your history of courses taken, completed, and accessed. You can also pick up right where you left off and resume the last segment you were watching without having to look for it.

What do you have to show for it
There are some courses that I went straight through. I learned to be a web designer through lynda.com. They taught me how to use Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks, build a successful blog, and how to use social media marketing for my business. In my eyes, lynda.com is a one stop shop for online education. Businesses can use lynda.com to train staff through multiple licesnes to the tutorial libraries. When you complete a course, you are issued a certificate. It is a feeling of accomplishment to have completed some of the courses. It just means you are closer to obtaining your goals!

Something for Everyone
The subject choices are diverse and you can learn so much! . I don't think I have ever seen such a wide variety of subjects to learn in one place. Below are a few of the ones that caught my eye but this is only a small sampling. Got to lynda.com to search the entire collection of over 40,000 tutorials! They continue to add courses monthly and announce this on their homepage or you can sign up for their newsletter for additions.
