Facebook: An Effective Marketing Tool for Your Business
It took me a while to join Facebook but now that I have I can see so many opportunities for business success! Facebook has improved the traffic to my website dramatically and has made advertising and marketing a breeze!
It is so easy to set up an account (you need to set up a personal account first) and then a Page for your Business after.(Easy Directions for Facebook Page Setup) Find out how here. I recommend creating your personal page to get used to Facebook and then create information for your business.
Before I went on Facebook, I only had a few visitors to my website and blogs. But then it increased dramatically! In a weeks time, I already had 50 members for Here 2 Help Services and it continues to grow with each day. Of course, many of Here 2 Help Services fans are people I know through work, college, or childhood, but there are a few I don't know. And as Here 2 Help Services makes a bigger spot on the Internet and Facebook, my stats are climbing (Need a stat counter to keep track of your visitors?).
The ability to reach others is so fast that announcements about new publications or blog entries are delivered instantly to fans. And they are unobtrusive. Notices don't pop up on your monitor while you're in the middle of something important. But they do come up in the notification section so fans will see it when something is written on the wall. A down side, however, is all pages or groups go together on a persons list of news. So if they have other groups that are post happy, most likely your news about your page will be moved down and out of sight quickly. That's okay. Don't overpost information to keep up. I don't know about you, but I find it annoying when someone hogs the stage. Posting a few times a week, even once a day, is a good balance.
A nice thing about using Facebook is you can keep your business and personal pages separate. Still, you should be cautious of who you have as members for professional pages. While you can remove unwanted comments, they will be on their until you check and once its out, it's out. This isn't a huge issue but you should still be aware of this and plan on checking your page frequently to monitor your public.
If you don't want to worry about this, you can set it so no one can comment on the wall, but this takes away from the interactivity of your page. And it's proven most Internet users prefer interaction.
The setup of a page on Facebook is fairly easy. If you need help, you can look at my basic instructions to get you started.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
